Promoting a business has it's own technique to be used. Not every business share the same promoting technique. And so, it is important for you to understand your business style and also what type of target audiences you should go after.
And NO. Forget about what your upline have told you about holding a mirror in front of their faces to see if they are breathing and then prospect them! Have you ever seen brands like Apple, Google or Nike trying to force their products/services on you without you asking for them? No, so why should you do that? With the right strategy in place you can have people come to you instead of you chasing them, so how do you do that? Well I will come to that soon…
Industry Leaders in Network Marketing Admit “Internet Marketing Works!”
One of my old buddy's that have been in the network marketing industry for a long time, is one of the top earners in his company. He started a year ago to implement some internet tactics in his business and got really good results. Before he was always saying that “I don't have time to learn that online stuff. It is only a distraction for my business!” Today he admits that he was wrong because the prospecting part is been taking care of it's self and he uses only social media to generate leads.
Some people get this totally wrong and goes on different social media platforms and blast all their friends with messages about their network marketing business and why they should join them. That’s not internet marketing. That’s just traditional prospecting, as it’s applied to the Internet. Effective if done right, totally annoying if done wrong!
‘Internet marketing’ means using advertising, Youtube channels, Facebook pages, blogging, email broadcast, sales funnels, etc., to build the business.
It becomes most effective when you use it with “attraction marketing” which focus on building a loyal following online and creating a trusted brand where people will literally buy anything from you, more about that later down below…
I am going to share the top 3 strategies people actually use to build there network marketing businesses today!
Strategy #1: Social Media Prospecting
This is probably something you can relate to because you have probably done something similar before. You still need to know that prospecting on social media is not “Internet marketing,” however it still beats camping at your local store. The biggest social media platform among us would definitely be Facebook so it is the best to start with.
- Use Facebook Search to find your “friends of friend” that is local to you, and then look at their profile to see if they like anything that you can resonate with. For example they maybe like Tony Robbins or Robert Kiyosaki, then you know the person probably have similar interest that you have.
- Now it's time to send them a message, because we kept it to “friends of friends” we can message them directly without having the message go into the Facebook “Other” inbox, (which most people don’t even know exists). In the message, be personal because you need to approach them in a way where you share common interests on Facebook. Then mention that you’re a recruiter for a “health & wellness company” (or whatever the niche is), you’re “expanding in the area” and you ask if they are “open to earning extra money?” DO NOT COPY AND PASTE POSTS with links to your company/opportunity and send it as a message and do not send the link in the first message you send to them. It's not effective and Facebook will sooner or later class you as spammy and in worst case shut you down and get your company in trouble.
In this initial message, you aren’t giving them any info or links. You are simply trying to get them to express an interest and build a relationship with them, then you send the link and share the opportunity. Don't forget, nobody likes that pitchy sales guy calling. You probably hang up the phone when they are calling you. Don't be the same.
- If they show interest, book a face to face meeting or get them on the phone, Just let them know that details are better explained on paper or through a slideshow.
Strategy #2: The “Fishing” Technique
This strategy can be little more effective some times but it also depends on what type of person you are. This pretty much involves posting your results on social media (throw your bait out) and when someone comments on your post, hook them in.
This technique works really great with a Call-To-Action to message you if they want more information. You can also send them to your own private blog. But as I said before this is not for everyone especially if you are new in your business and don't have got any results yet or have hard time having discussions with people. You need to be a very social human being and sales knowledge is a huge plus. Same as above. Don't be a creepy sales guy.
Strategy #3: ‘The 5 Step Attraction Marketing Method’
This is the step my best friend implemented one year ago that I was talking about. About one year ago he called me(no, he did not pitch me on his business). We had a long discussion about businesses in general and how we se people succeed and fail. He had just come home from one of Eric Worre's seminars held in London, seen lots of newbies in different network marketing businesses gone up on stage and had become successful in just 90- days or less. They were talking about their stories and how they got their success using online strategies!
I asked him, can you explain, what type of strategies they used and he tried to explain as good has he could remember. After 50 seconds of him trying to explain I told him. “Stop, these internet strategies you are talking about is attraction marketing”. The people that he met and stood on stage telling their stories, were actually using the attraction marketing technique in their network marketing businesses!
I told him, that we have been teaching the same strategies together with Stuart Ross in the 5-Step Attraction Marketing since 2011 here in our community in Digi Entrepreneurs and this particular strategy can be implemented in all different business models.
Attraction marketing systems is going to do 3 things:
- It's going to attract an endless supply of quality leads.
- Create a relationship with these leads.
- Allow you to generate income from these leads, and not just a one hitter, but residual.
An effective attraction marketing system requires you to offer information that will attract potential customers with an aim of establishing your expertise in a particular niche. Customers rely on information to make a decision, which means you will be better off in case you offer what they are looking for.
I taught my buddy to set this up for himself and after one month he had his inbox full of notifications, letting him know that there were 20 new prospects, interested in learning more about the opportunity/products.
He had 5-10 DISTRIBUTORS ready to get signed up without him doing any more work.
You see, just about every other type of business in the world is now using proven, passive and scalable online marketing & advertising methods.
So why NOT use the same in your network marketing business? The only reason would be if it wasn’t a REAL business. But you and I know better.
This strategy has proven to work for many businesses online and you can learn more about it here via our video training series.
It will take work and study but more knowledge will enhance your skill set into the digital age of 21st century. Are you ready for this journey?
Looking forward to hear from you.
